Hazrat Allam Qari Hafiz Muhammed MuslehUddin Alaihi
Muhammad Muslehuddin Siddiqui (1918-1983) (Urdu محمد مصلح الدین صدیقی), was a
Sufi leader of Hyderabad. He was born
on 11th day of Rabi' al-awwal 1336AH,
corresponding to 27 December 1918, at the time of true
dawn in Nander, Hyderabad deccan. His father was Ghulam
Jilani, an Islamic Scholar. He spent his life preaching Islam, and served the Barelvi movement
until his death.
Under the supervision of his father Ghulam
Jilani, he memorized the Quran before the age of 14. He
then received Dastaar from Muhammad Abdul Aziz Muhaddis Mubarakpuri.
On the suggestion of Muhammad
Abdul Aziz Muhaddis Mubarakpuri at the age of 17 years (1935 AD) he went to
Ahle-Sunnat's prominent Darul-uloom Ashrafiya university in Mubarakpur
Pradesh, where he got studied fiqh, hadith and other Islamic
subjects. His teachers were Abdul Azeez Mubarakpuri, Maulana Sanaullah Azami,
and Maulana Muhammad Suleman Bhagalpoori. He was in one of the gathered students
there who have the thirst of Islamic Education, he took the education from all
the masters in each field hence resulting in command of that specific field.
After 8 years spending at this university he then travelled with Maulana Abdul
Azeez Mubarakpuri in 1943 to Nagpur and received
Dastaar-e-Fazeelat from different Mashaikh and Scholars including Hujjatul Islam Maulana Hamid
Raza Khan, Ibn-e-Ali Fazil Barelvi, Sadrush Sharia Maulana Hakeem Muhammad
Amjad Ali Azami (Author of Bahar-e-Shariat),
Sheikhul Hadees Manzar Islam Barelvi, Maulana Abdul Azeez Mubarakpuri,
Muhaddis-e-Azam Maulana Syed Muhammad Jeelani Ashrafi Kachochwi, Maulana
Muhammad Suleman Bhaglpuri, Maulana Muhammad Sanaullah Azami, these all were no
doubt unmatchable scholars of Ahle Sunnat Wal
Jamaat, from whom he received knowledge and wisdom
Activities in Nagpur
In 1943 AD, When he was in Nagpur, he lead one Friday prayer
and delivered a sermon (khutba), people who offered
Friday prayer after him were inspired by his knowledge and his love for the
prophet Mohammed. They requested him to be the khatib there. Siddiqui
accepted their request and continued to deliver Friday Sermon and led prayer, he
used to teach Arabic language in a local
school, "Anjuman Islamia High School" and also founded an organization named
"Jamiat Tulba-e-Ahle Sunnat.
Bay'ah and Khilafah
After attaining education, he then diverted his intention towards gaining
spiritual education, when he shown his interest in this regard to his teacher
Maulana Shah Muhammad Abdul Azeez Mubarakpuri, he took him on decided time to Ghosi District Azamgarh, to
meet Sadrush Sharia Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Amjad Ali Azami, who came on leave
to his hometown Ghosi from Madarsa Manzar Islam Bareli. He then learnt few topics
of Sahih Bukhari from Sadrush
Sharia and after Asar Prayer he then entered Qari Muslehuddin in his Bay'ah, this
incident occurred approximately during 1358 AH.
At the age of 29, in 1946 AD Qari Muslehuddin went to Nagpur, India, and in a
congregation of Naat
Khuwani, his master Sadrush Sharia Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Amjad Ali Azami asked
him to recite Naat
which he followed and recited Naat of Maulana Jami. Sadrush Sharia Maulana Hakeem
Muhammad Amjad Ali Azami was also crying and during naat he conferred khilafah upon Qari
Muslehuddin thus giving him the legitimacy to speak on behalf of the Qadri Order.
In 1376 AH Mufti Aazam Hind Maulana Mustafa Raza Khan also conferred Khilafah to him and in 1955AD
during his first Hajj
(pilgrimage to Mecca) Qutub-e-Madinah Allama Shah Ziauddin Madani conferred Khilafah to him in Qadri Order.
As Siddiqui has the khilafah in the Qadri order, his spiritual chain
connect to the Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, as mentioned below and known as
Silsila Aaliya Qadiriya Razawiya
The personality of Qari Muslehuddin was itself witness to his Islamic
beliefs. He had a special attribute towards Ghaus-e-Azam Sheikh Abdul
Qadir Jilani, he always wrote Qadri at the end of his name, he
always obeyed Allah and followed sunnah. Siddiqui spent 40 years
serving and preaching Islam. He had special devotion towards saints of Islam, he
therefore regularly visited mausoleum of awlias (saints), and he used to
discuss their teachings, and of course he was the envoy of their teachings.
He spent ascetic life, remained well dressed, he used to wear Sherwani and
Amamah (turban or Dastar), hundred thousands of people were inspired by his
spiritual personality, his spiritual influence was so dominant, that wealthier
and prosperous people feel proud to stay at his doorstep. He use to remain in wazaif and consider
to help needy ones as his responsibility.
During the Pakistan Movement,
Siddiqui was among the scholars who sided with Muhammad Ali Jinnah
and the Muslim League, under the
platform of “All India Sunni Conference″ held at Banaras in 1946.
As such, he played a role in the creation of
Pakistan on August 14, 1947.
After the princely state of Hyderabad was invaded
by India in 1949, Siddiqui migrated to Pakistan by ship and continued his
work in Karachi.
After migration, with assistance of Mufti Zafar Ali Nomani, he was appointed
as Khateeb in Akhond Masjid Kharadar, where
he delivered sermon for about 19 years, during this he was also appointed as Mudarris in
Darul ulloom Amjadya ( A prominent University of Sunni School in Karachi) where he
used to teach Tafsir, Hadis, Fiqh and Usul al-fiqh, Tajwid, etc, he
remained here for about 18 years.
During this he came to know through Allama Sardar Ahmad that there is a need
of Khateeb for the Jama
Masjid of Wah Cantt, and he received a
number of telegrams from different scholars of nearby areas, they all wanted
Qari Muslehuddin to come over here, people of different schools applied for this
vacancy but Qari Muslehuddin was selected by the jury after listening his
sermon. He used to address Dars-e-Quran after Magrib Prayer and Dars-e-Hadis in
the morning, moreover he used to deliver Khutba for Friday Prayer. He
remained here for one and a half year, during his presence congregation
continued to increase due to which Government of
Pakistan bought additional 35,000 tents to fulfill the needs, it was
estimated that for about 18,000 to 19,000 people used to attend his Friday Sermon.
After one and half year he then travelled back to Karachi due to some
personal problemsKharadar, people were weeping
when he left Wah Cantt, soon after this he
was then requested to join Khori Garden Masjid situated at Jodia Bazar, since it
was an ample place. He continued to serve humanity and Ahle Sunnat Wal
Jamaat till his demise at Khori Garden Masjid. and joined his previously left position of Khatib in
Akhond Masjid situated in 
Work for Darul Uloom
During his Khitabat ak Akhond Masjid, he joined Darul uloom Mazharya located
at Aram Bagh, and taught there for about 2 to 4 years, and after the Wah Cantt journey he then
joined Darul Uloom Amjadya ( a prominent university of Sunni school). Despite of
teaching here, he always gathered donation in lacs for not only Darul uloom
amjadya but for many different Sunni Madarsa. He always
morally supported many Sunni departments including Idara
Tehqeeqat-e-Imam Ahmad Raza.
He also corresponded to “Madarsa Qadriya" located in Baghdad, Iraq, to send many Pakistani
students for higher studies.
Qari Muslehuddin issued various fatwa during his stay in Wah Cantt which were published
in several magazines. He also translated collection of hadith, namely al-Tirmidhi but this
remained incomplete due to his severe illness.

Qari Muslehuddin conferred Khilafah to :
When Siddiqui was asked about his last wish, he always answered that his last
wish is to pass from this world with Islamic Faith, hence on 7th day of Jumada al-Thani 1403 AH,
corresponding to March 23, 1983, at the time of noon, he felt severe illness,
and started to recite Kalimah and Durood, and while carrying him to
Karachi in the ambulance, at approximately 4:30 PM Siddiqui died due to
heart attack at the age of 67 years, thousands of people attended his funeral,
which was lead by Akhtar Raza.
His Mazar is
adjacent to Khori Garden Masjid, which is now called “Memon Masjid Muslehuddin
Garden″ located at Jodia Bazar Kharadar, Karachi.
Mazar Qari Muslehuddin Siddiqui
Fatiha for Siddiqui is performed
on every 7th day of Islamic Month in his mazar, and his urs is celebrated in the Islamic
month of Jumada al-Thani  every year, and attended by thousands, lead by Syed Shah
Turab-ul-Haq Qadri, the Khalifa of Siddiqui, which include Naat Khuwani, Salat o
Salam and Manqabat, after the Urs, food is dedicated to the attendees.
